Aswan Birdwatching is taking part in the celebration of World Day for Wetlands in Aswan, Egypt.

Last February, Aswan Birdwatching participated in the celebration of World Day for Wetlands, a global event held annually to raise awareness about the importance of wetlands and the need to conserve and protect them. The event was organized by Sobek Planet in association with OSME, Nature Conservation Egypt (NCE), Aswan Wildlife, Tabe’a, and Misr Public Library Aswan.
Importance of Wetlands
Wetlands, such as marshes, swamps, and mangroves, provide essential ecosystem services, including water filtration, flood control, and habitat for diverse plant and animal species. However, wetlands are facing numerous threats, including pollution, drainage, and climate change, which can lead to loss of biodiversity and ecosystem disruption.

Event Highlights
The celebration included various activities for both kids and adults. For kids, there were engaging painting and origami workshops, as well as a small competition that encouraged them to learn about wetlands and wildlife.
